Many bicycle enthusiasts come to San Juan Island to explore its Scenic Byways, spot Orcas and visit art studios, farms and vineries along the way. Or take a spin on one of our complimentary retro beach cruisers for a fun trip to the nearest beach or bar.

Free Beach Cruisers
Check out our complimentary beach cruiser bikes and head to Jackson’s Beach, just a mile out of Friday Harbor. Spend the day tide pooling, flying a kite and picnicking. Take the long way home on Pear Point Loop, a lovely 5-mile loop along the shore, which gets you back into town where the ferry lands, and very conveniently... where the ice cream shop is located.
Or bike the three miles to San Juan Vineyards through lush valleys and treat yourself to a local wine tasting. Maybe a round of golf with water view is where our bikes will lead you. San Juan Golf & Country Club, 2.5 miles out of town, welcomes the public and rents clubs.
If you're looking for a little longer adventure, we suggest you either bring your own bicycle or rent one on the island from Discovery Adventure Tours located just two blocks up the street.
Circuits to Roche Harbor on the North end or to the Westside overlooks are approximately 20 miles round trip and make for nice, half day trips. The flatter ride to the south tip of the island is similar in length although it does require backtracking on the same road for your return.
If you choose to bring your own bike, please know we don't allow bikes inside our hotel or guest rooms. We offer secure bike racks in our main courtyard. Meat Machine Cycles, the local bike store, is barely two minutes from us and can help you out with any bike maintenance you might need.
